Ancient Oni Mask

The client wanted a powerful back piece to symbolize overcoming adversity through the imagery of an ancient evil Oni mask. I utilized heavy blackwork and dynamic negative space to ensure the massive demon motif retains stark readability across the body's natural contours. My goal was an imposing composition where fluid, smoke-like textures blend into sharp linework to evoke a chaotic, ancient energy.
