Shadow and Sting

This scorpion was requested to symbolize protection and a resilient, defensive nature. To execute the design I packed bold black ink into the heavy line work and utilized smooth whip-shading to give the exoskeleton a textured, dimensional sheen. I deliberately curved the tail to wrap naturally with the contours above the elbow, ensuring it tucked perfectly alongside the existing web for a classic look.
