Letter From The Editor - July 2025

Dear Mabee Ink Family,

Wow, what a ride the last two months have been! If you've felt a slight tremor in the universe, it's probably just the sheer volume of creative energy bursting from the studio. "Crazy busy" feels like an understatement, but in the best possible way. It's been a whirlwind of ink, steel, and exciting new beginnings, and I'm thrilled to share a glimpse into the organized chaos that is Mabee Ink right now.

First off, on the personal front, I finally got some much-needed work done on my own sleeve, courtesy of the incredibly talented Juan Nava owner of First Love Tattoo in Redbluff Ca during my guest spot to his amazing studio after we went fishing for striper bass on the Sacramento River. It's always a unique experience being on the other side of the needle, and I'm absolutely stoked with the progress. The art is truly speaking for itself!

Then, I had the fantastic opportunity to do a guest spot in Reno with incredibly Lucky Chuck, owner of Prison Blues Tattoo inside the renowned Grand Sierra Resort and casino in Reno NV. It was an awesome experience, connecting with new artists and clients, and soaking in a different creative atmosphere. I got to spend some much needed time at the spa, bowl a few games and golf with some of my best friends in the world from Tahoe Ca, I'm already looking forward to my next adventure, as I'll be attending the 40 Mile Tattoo Convention at the Hard Rock resort and casino soon. If you're there, be sure to say hello!

Back at the studio, the needles are buzzing louder than ever. I'm incredibly excited to announce that I'm embarking on eight new sleeves this month. Each one is a unique journey, and I can't wait to see these visions come to life on skin over the course of this year. Alongside this, I'm pouring a lot of energy into developing our exclusive VIP community on the Mabee Ink App. This space is designed to be a true hub for connection, behind-the-scenes content, and special perks for our most dedicated supporters. Get ready for some exciting updates there!

Beyond the ink, the creative engines are running full throttle on other passions. My clothing line is nearing completion, and I'm putting the finishing touches on designs that I'm incredibly proud of. You'll be seeing those very soon! And speaking of big projects, I’m actively preparing to move my home closer to the studio in the Spring Town district by the end of the year. It's a huge undertaking and a much needed upgrade, but one that will undoubtedly streamline operations and give me more time to dedicate to what I love.

The rumble of engines isn't just in my head, either. I've been deep in the art garage, painting two new commissioned muscle cars for clients – a true passion project that lets me blend my love for automotive technical art with my vibrant painting skills. And just when you thought things couldn't get any busier, I'm officially starting work on my very own project car: a '69 Chevy Nova SS! This beauty will be ready to shine just in time for our annual art and car show.

Last but certainly not least, to help manage this beautiful madness and ensure I continue to deliver the best possible experience, Mabee Ink is officially hiring for a new Virtual Assistant. If you know someone organized, passionate, and ready to dive into a dynamic creative environment, please spread the word!

It's a lot, I know, but every single one of these endeavors fuels my passion and pushes the boundaries of what we can create together.

Thank you for being such an incredible part of the Mabee Ink journey. Your support, enthusiasm, and trust mean the world.

Stay tuned for more updates, and keep an eye out for some truly exciting things on the horizon!

Warmly,

Tony owner/operator of Mabee Ink

Down sides: I got a nail in my tire 🛞 in Reno and had to buy all new tires and joint bearings for the alignment… plus I totally got the 💩 from this awesome taqueria after a couple of late night tattoo sessions on some good buddies.
